CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT

— The Chicago Association for Psychoanalytic Psychology (CAPP) is a local chapter of Division 39 of the American Psychological Association (APA). Division 39 is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for Clinical Psychologists. Division 39 maintains responsibility for all CAPP sponsored and co-sponsored programs and their content. In addition, CAPP is licensed by the State of Illinois (#159-000326) to sponsor continuing education units for Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors, and Licensed Professional Counselors. Professionals holding the aforementioned credentials will earn continuing education credits for attending the entire program. Any extra costs for CE’s will be specified on the individual program brochure or announcement.

There is no commercial support for this program nor are there relationships between the CE sponsor, presenting organization, presenter, program content, research, grants, or other funding that could be construed as conflicts of interest.  During the program, presenters will discuss the utility/validity of the content/approach discussed (including the basis for statements about validity/utility) as well as the limitations of the approach and the most common (and severe) risk if any.)

CE credit must be arranged before the conference begins.  Requests for CE credits after the conference takes place will not be honored.  Credit is given only for attending programs in their entirety. No credit is available for attending only part CE programs.

Accessibility and Ethical Commitments

CAPP and Division 39 are committed to accessibility and non-discrimination in continuing education activities.  CAPP must be notified of special needs one month before the date of the conference for accommodations to be arranged.  If a participant has special needs, she/he should contact the person in charge of the program as specified on the program brochure or announcement.

APP and Division 39 are also committed to conducting all activities in conformity with The American Psychological Association’s Ethical Principles for Psychologists.  Presenters and attendees are asked to be aware of the need for privacy and confidentiality during and after the program.  If program content becomes stressful, participants are encouraged to process these feelings during discussion periods.  Problems, question, concerns, and feedback should be directed to the contact person designated on the program brochure or announcement.
